We will be carrying out two research efforts with WH Baird and Associates in 2017 to:
- do a long-range study to model water levels in Lakes Michigan/Huron in the
light of historical water level cycles and the change in conveyance
capacity in the St. Clair River
- The second phase would incorporate the potential effects of climate
change. The proposal is to examine water level trends over the next 50 years
which should provide strong arguments for recommending compensating
structures in the St. Clair River to manage water levels in Lakes Michigan/Huron over the long term.
